SHARPENING
THE
BLADES
1. Sharpening
Frequency.
While sharpening
frequency
varies depending
on the material, depth
of
cut,
etc.,
the
Blades
should
generally
be
sharpened
after
approximately
500m
(1,600
board
feet)
of
planing
has
been
accomplished.
2. Blade
Sharpening
allowance.
The Blades are provided with 7.5mm (0.295")
sharpening
allowance
(Fig. 26).

Use

grinder

(sold
separately)
is recommended.
MAINTENANCE
AND
INSPECTION
АА WARNING
: Make sure the power switch is turned OFF and the plug is disconnected from
the
receptacle
during
maintenance
and
inspection.
1. Inspecting
the
Blades.
Use
of a dull
or damaged
Blade
reduces
operation
efficiency
and
could
cause
overload
and
serious
damage
to the
machine
motor.
Inspect
the
Blades
regularly
and
sharpen
or
replace
Blades
as
necessary.
АА CAUTION : if
extremely
blunt
Planer
Blades
are
used
without
replacing
them,
it
is
dangerous
because
the
rejecting
force
at cutting
increases.
NEVER
USE
BLUNT
BLADES.
2. Handling.
The Pianer Jointer is so designed
that the Blades begin revolving immediately when
the switch
is turned
ON.
Exercise
particular care when
the machine
is in operation.
When
the machine
is not in use, ensure
that the Lock
Key is removed
from
the switch
and
the plug is removed
from
the power
receptacle.
Keep
the
Planer
Jointer
stored
in a dry environment.
