4-4. Manual test
For the manual test, select the numerical key, [11]
[4] thru
for the test to be performed. For example: [3}i is for RAM
test
(1) Buzzer test

Depress the [4] key
— A one shot buzzer will sound,
(2) Display test'

- The display will follow the same sequence as in the
' "aging test.
' (3) RAM test

To set up the RAM test:
Depress the
-key
— A one. shot. buzzer will sound - if, there is no error
detected.
This test is for RAM.1 only. The test will write then read
four kinds of.data to/from each address of RAM 1 in the
following @
orders
RAM 2 is not installed.
Note:
Data is writen into each address (8100 to 87FF)
"of
RAM 1.
RAM addresses (8000 to 80FF) are not checked
via this test, but these addresses are used as a
working area for the test function.

If there is an error detected while reading, the display
will change from all " [ '' to the following:

The write data for order No.3 was FF, however, instead
of reading FF, it read 5F which is the error shown in the.

(4) Printer test

Depress the [4] key
— The printer will then start printing. The same pattern
described in the aging test.
— Printer will stop at the end of sequence.
(5) Card (slip) sensor test

Depress the [5] key;

(6) Mode switch test

Depress the [6] key
— Digits 1 thru 12 are blank on the display by turning
the mode switch to the different mode positions.

Note:
If an open
is present, the number "5" will be
displayed.

(7) Key test

Depress the [7] key
Note:
The
display
will indicate
which
key is to be
depressed, in the ist and 2nd digit positions.

Depress each key in the sequence shown below.
~ If a key is depressed out of sequence, or, a key switch
is defective (not making contact) which will throw it
out of sequence, and the error sound will occur. The
machine
will wait until the sequence

Depression of the last key in the sequence will end
this test and the display will change 'backs to "C""
display for all digits.
Note:
As the BE-2520 key board can be modified, per-
form the key test after the key layout presetting.
For the key layout presetting, refer to section 3-1
(MRS1) on page.16.

Since the key function assignment is done at the time of
initialization with the BE-2520, the overall key, test must
be carried out after completion of the key function as- |
signment.

If the contents of the key function assignment memory.
is other than the code setup, the overall
key teést- is
carried out with the depression of the
key in the
8 items mode.

Key depression sequence
If a key is depressed in the wrong order, buzzer sound
occurs and the machine awaits depression of the correct
key.
