Example
Network File System method using a UNIX computer.
To enable windows to be initiated from the HP 16500B named lp16500b,
enter the following command on the computer running the X server (and the
UNIX operating system in this example):
xhost +lp16500b
If you have NFS mounted the HP 16500B's file system to a directory named
"/logic" on your computer whose IP address is 15.6.253.146 (and is running
the UNIX operating system and the X server), enter the following command
to start the X Window interface:
echo "xwin on,'15.6.253.146:0.0'" > /logic/system/program
Example
Network File System method using a PC.
To start the HP 16500B's X Window interface and display on a personal
computer running X server software, first start the X server software (and
enable HP 16500B initiated windows, if necessary).
If you have NFS mounted the HP 16500B's file system to the logical drive "L:"
on your computer whose IP address is 15.6.253.146 (and is running the
X server), enter the following command to start the X Window interface:
echo xwin on,"15.6.253.146:0.0" > L:\system\program
Example
File Transfer Protocol method.
File transfer protocol (FTP) can be used to activate the X Window interface
from either a UNIX computer or a PC. You will need to start the X server
software on a PC and may need to enable the HP 16500B initiated window.
On a UNIX computer, you will need to enable the window initiated by the
HP 16500B by entering the following command:
xhost +lp16500b
