Accessing the HP 16500B File System
This chapter shows you how to:
Mount the file system via NFS.
Access the file system via FTP.
This chapter assumes that the HP 16500B mainframe is physically connected to
your local area network. If it is not connected, refer to the HP 16500H
Administrator's and Service Guide for information on how to connect the
system.
Control User vs. Data User
You can access the HP 16500B file system as either the control user or
a data user.
Control User
The control user can send programming commands to the
HP 16500B.
The control user has read and write access to the HP 16500B file
system.
There can only be one control user at any time. If you attempt to
access the HP 16500B file system as the control user when another
control user is already accessing the HP 16500B, or when someone
is using TELNET to access the command parser SOCKET, the
access will fail.
Data User
The data user cannot send programming commands to the
HP 16500B.
The data user has read-only access to the HP 16500B file system,
except under the \system\disk\hard and
