6.2. Reset To Factory Defaults
2. Reset To Factory Defaults Via the Serial Console
Connect the serial cable and attach using terminal emulator software
(if Windows is used, the communication accessory HyperTerminal can be
used). Reset the firewall. Press any key when "Press any key to abort
and load boot menu" message appear on the console. When the bootmenu
appear select "Reset to factory defaults", confirm and wait for the revert
process to complete.
The following procedure only applies to the DFL-210/800:
3. Reset To Factory Defaults Using the Reset Switch
To reset the DFL-210/800 to factory default settings you must hold
the reset button down for 10-15 seconds while powering on the unit. After
that you can release the reset button and the DFL-210/800 will continue to
load and startup in default mode, i.e. with 192.168.1.1 on the LAN interface.
The following procedure only applies to the DFL-1600/2500:
3. Reset To Factory Defaults Using the Keypad and Display
Reset the firewall. Press any key on the keypad when the "Press key-
pad to Enter Setup" message appear on the display. Select "Reset firewall",
confirm by selecting "yes" and wait for the revert process to complete.
Caution
DO NOT ABORT THE RESET TO FACTORY DEFAULTS PROCESS.
If aborted the firewall can cease to function properly.
After the reset process, the settings of the firewall will be permanently
restored.
