3. Replace the bottom access panel (see Replacing the Bottom Access Panel).
4. Follow the procedures in After Working on Your Computer. As the computer boots, it detects the additional
memory and automatically updates the system configuration information. To confirm the amount of
memory installed in the computer:
In Windows XP, right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop. Click Properties → General.
In Windows Vista, click Start

14.1 Removing the Coin-Cell Battery
CAUTION:
Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety
instructions that shipped with your computer.
1. Follow the procedures in Before Working on Your Computer.
2. Remove the bottom access panel (see Removing the Bottom Access Panel).
3. Pry up the coin-cell battery to release the double-stick adhesive tape on the bottom of the coin-cell battery,
and then lift it out of the computer.
4. Disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the system board.
