USING THE REMOTE
USING THE REMOTE TO CONTROL CABLE BOX
OR EXTERNAL SATELLITE RECEIVER FUNCTIONS
Operating the precoded function for your cable box or external satellite receiver.
This remote is designed to operate different types of cable boxes and external
satellite systems. You must first program the remote to match the remote system of
your cable/satellite box.
]. Set the MULTI-PAGE select switch, on the side of the remote control, to TV/
CABLE/SAT.
2. Turn ON the component {Cable Box or External Satellite Receiver) you wish to
control with the remote.
3. Pressand release CABLE or SAT button to switch to CABLE or SAT mode.
4. Aim the remote at the front of the component.
5. Press and hold clown the CABLE or SAT button.
6.
While holding down the button, enter the 2 digit preset code which matches
the component as shown on page 28. The remote will turn OFF the component
when the correct code is entered, indicating that the remote is now
programmed.
I ATTENTION: If the component does not turn OFF after 5 seconds, the wrong I
code was entered. Consult page 28 again and try one of the other I
codes listed for that Cable box or Satellite receiver. I
NOTES:
1. If your cable box or external sateilite receiver cannot be operated after
performing the above procedures, your code has not been precoded into the
remote.
2. In the unlikely event that your cable box or external satellite receiver cannot
be operated after performing the above procedures, please consult your
operating guide.
3. The remote control will remember the codes you have programmed until the
batteries are removed form the remote control. After replacing the batteries
repeat the entire programming procedure as stated above.
4. If your cable box or external satellite receiver does not have a power function,
the remote will issue the CHANNEL UP function.
5. The LAST button will act as the cable box ENTER button if required.
6. The INPUT button will act as the TV/SAT button when in SAT mode.
