Compatibility and Migration
Easy Migration to Strata CIX1200 from Other Toshiba Strata CIX Systems makes growth and
expansion very cost-effective and protects your investment.
Toshiba has retained its renowned migration path with the Strata CIX1200. Users of other Toshiba
Strata business communication systems can easily migrate their systems to the new Strata CIX1200.
Telephones and almost all system interface cards may be re-used as well as voice mail systems and
the Strata MAS with resident applications. Providing a smooth migration path gives users the ability to
retain much of their original investment, while they gain the benefits of the larger system and its
additional capabilities.
All Strata DK424i and Strata CTX/CIX670 systems can be upgraded to CIX1200. All that is required is
to replace the existing processor cards with the new CIX1200 processor cards then, add RRCU cards,
fiber optic cables and cabinets. Once upgraded, the CIX1200 system has all the CIX670 features plus
almost double the capacity of a CIX670 system. The new CIX1200 processor card allows new or
existing DK424i and CIX670 systems to grow to any combination of 1000 telephones and 440 trunk
lines, up to the system maximum of 1152 ports. The new processor card installs in the current DK424i/
CIX670 cabinets and uses all existing DK424i/CIX670 parts including base and expansion cabinets,
licenses, telephones, and most circuit cards. By installing the new processor, the system can be
expanded to 12 cabinets, 5 more than the current DK424i/CIX670 systems.
