Ports
The full size CIX1200 Expanded B system (HCTU1+HEXBU1) is configured in two equipment stacks.
The Base Cabinet Equipment Stack with the Base Cabinet and up to six expansion cabinets
The Expansion Cabinet Equipment Stack with up to five expansion cabinets
The first six expansion cabinets of a CIX1200 system are connected to the Base Cabinet using the
same ribbon cables as a CIX670 system. Cabinets 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are connected to the Base
Cabinet through dealer supplied fiber optic cables. Each Fiber Optic cable, connecting an RRCU card
in the base stack to an RRCU in an expansion cabinet, can interface one or two expansion cabinets.
Refer to Figure 8. Any of the first six expansion cabinets can be located at a remote location by using
RRCU cards and fiber optic cables.
SD Memory Card Compatibility
In addition to storing the system database and program file, the SD memory card can also store
system log files. The Strata CIX1200 system is compatible with Toshiba brand 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB,
and 4 GB-SDHC memory cards. The system limits the amount of memory available for log files. The 1
GB and larger memory cards can store approximately 13 times (or more) the number of log files as the
512 MB SD card. The greater the number of log files stored on the SD card the longer the system
requires to become ready after a power up, system reset, or initialization. When using 1 GB and larger
SD cards to store log files, the SD card should be replaced every two years. The smaller memory cells
in the large capacity SD cards will not last as long as the larger, low capacity memory cards.
Note
The SD must be formatted on the CIX1200 system, not a PC.
