Hookup

If you have two VT-DX815As, you may use one VT-DX815A to record a
tape that is being played back in the other VT-DX815A.
Notes:
• Analog recorded sections cannot be dubbed. See page 51 if you want to dub
analog recorded section.
• You cannot dub a section guarded against copying (where a copy protect signal
is inserted) on tape. When the copy guarded section is played back by VCR-2,
the D-VHS indicator will flash, and no picture or sound will be recorded by VCR-
1.
• The IRT (instant recording timer) cannot be used during dubbing.

To copy from one VT-DX815A to another VT-DX815A

1 Holding the DSS/VCR button on the VCR-2 remote control, press
the VCR-2 STOP button.

• The VCR-2 D-VHS indicator will light and "dub" will appear in the display.
Note: Dubbing cannot be done when "dub" disappears. The dub indicator will
disappear if you do not perform dubbing withing two minute after it lights, or if you
press the STOP, FF or REW button. When the dub indicator goes out, perform
steps 1 and 2 again and make sure that the dub indicator lights, then perform
steps 3 and 4.
2 Holding the DSS/VCR button on the VCR-1 remote control, press
the VCR-1 STOP button.

• The VCR-1 D-VHS indicator will light and "dub" will appear in the display.
3 Press the PLAY/STILL button on VCR-2.
• The picture will not appear during dubbing.
• If still playback or visual search is engaged during dubbing, no picture or
sound will be recorded.

4 Press the REC/IRT button on VCR-1 to start recording.
• Press the STOP button or PAUSE/SELECT to finish recording.
