Never allow children or untrained people to operate or
service the machine. Local regulations may restrict the
age of the operator. The owner is responsible for training
all operators and mechanics.
Become familiar with the safe operation of the equipment,
operator controls, and safety signs. Know how to stop
the machine and engine quickly.
Check that all safety devices are attached and
functioning properly. This includes, but is not limited to,
operator-presence controls; safety switches and shields;
the rollover protection system (ROPS); attachments; and
brakes. Do not operate the machine unless all safety
devices are in position and functioning as intended by
the manufacturer.
Always inspect the machine to ensure that the blades,
blade bolts, and cutting assembly are not worn or
damaged. Replace worn or damaged blades and bolts in
sets to preserve balance.
Inspect the area where you will use the machine and
remove all objects that the machine could potentially
throw.
Evaluate the terrain to determine the appropriate
equipment and any attachments or accessories required to
operate the machine properly and safely.
