TRAILER TOWING
The Workman
®
is capable of pulling trailers and
attachments of greater weight than the vehicle itself.
Several types of tow hitches are available for the
Workman, depending on your application. Contact
your Authorized TORO Distributor for details.
When equipped with a tow hitch bolted onto rear
axle tube, your Workman can tow trailers or attach-
ments with a Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) up to 680
kg. Always load a trailer with 60% of the cargo
weight in the front of the trailer. This places approx-
imately 10% (90 kg max.) of the Gross Trailer
Weight (GTW) on the tow hitch of the vehicle.
When towing either standard tongue or 5th wheel
trailers having a Gross Trailer Weight (GTW) in
excess of 900 kg, use either a chassis mounted draw
bar hitch (rated for 1590 kg. GTW) or the 5th wheel
kit with the brakes. Trailer brakes are required
whenever a trailer over 900 kg. GTW is towed
behind a Workman vehicle.
When hauling cargo or towing a trailer (attachment),
do not overload your vehicle or trailer. Overloading
can cause poor performance or damage to the brakes,
axle, engine, transaxle, steering, suspension, body
structure or tires.
Important: To reduce potential for drive line
damage, use low range.
When towing 5th wheel attachments, like a fairway
aerator, always install the bar included with the 5th
wheel kit to prevent the front wheels from lifting off
the ground if the towed attachments movement is
suddenly impaired.
