5.3 Starting Web Maintenance Console
Using Web Maintenance Console in Off-line Mode
You can connect a PC to the PBX to program the PBX using Web Maintenance Console (On-line mode), or
you can program the PBX without connecting the PC to the PBX (Off-line mode).
Off-line mode programming is performed using the Off-line version of Web Maintenance Console, which you
install on your PC. The changes made during Off-line mode are saved as local data on the PC, and then later
uploaded to the PBX.
The following procedures outline how to install the Web Maintenance Console for Off-line mode programming.
Installation
Note
Be sure to install the latest version of KX-NS Unified Web Maintenance Console.
Before beginning the installation of Off-line Web Maintenance Console, the following software must be
installed on the PC:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4
This software can be downloaded from Microsoft's online Download Center.
To install or uninstall the software on a PC running Windows Vista
8, Windows 8 Professional, Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 Professional, you must be logged in as a user
in the "Administrators" group.
1.
Copy the KX-NS Unified Web Maintenance Console setup file to your PC.
2.
Double-click the setup file to run the installer.
3.
Follow the on-screen instructions provided by the installation wizard.

For information about programming the PBX in Off-line mode, refer to the PC Programming Manual.
Converting KX-NCP series or KX-TDE series System Data for Use with the
KX-NS700
System data from a KX-NCP500/KX-NCP1000 or KX-TDE100/KX-TDE200 can be converted for use with the
KX-NS700 to ensure a seamless transition to the new system.
In this section, we use "Maintenance Console" for the following Maintenance Console.
Unified Maintenance Console for KX-NCP500/KX-NCP1000/KX-TDE100/KX-TDE200
1.
Connect a PC to a KX-NCP500/KX-NCP1000/KX-TDE100/KX-TDE200, and then start the Maintenance
Console.
For details about connecting a PC to a PBX or for details about the Maintenance Console, refer to the
appropriate documentation.
2.
In the Maintenance Console, save the PBX's system data file DBSYS or DMSYS
For details about saving the system data file to the PC, refer to the appropriate documentation.
3.
Start Web Maintenance Console for the KX-NS700 in Off-line mode.
4.
In the Program Launcher, click Database Converter.
5.
In Select Original File Name, select the system file (DBSYS or DMSYS
to convert.
6.
Select WebMC Language and click Next.
7.
An image of converting the file is displayed on the screen. The system data will be converted and a system
data file for the KX-NS700 (DHSYS) is created. It will complete within one minute.
8.
After conversion is complete, you can click Save on the Result of Converting screen and save the results
file to your PC.
9.
In the Select Next Step screen, you can select the action from the followings.
