Configuration control
Operating principle of configuration control
You can use configuration control to operate different real configurations (station options)
with a single configuration of the S7-1500 automation system/ET 200MP distributed I/O
system.
● A station master is configured in a project (maximum configuration). The station master
comprises all modules that are required in a series of similar plant units or machines.
● The user program for the project provides for several station options for various plant
units or machines as well as selection of a station option. A station option uses, for
example, only some of the configured modules of the station master and these modules
are inserted in the slots in a different order.
● An operator selects a station option for a specific plant on-site. To do this, the project
need not be modified, which means that it is not necessary to load a modified
configuration.
