6. Before using for the
first time
FIRE HAZARD! Before turning the
device on, place it on a level, sta-
ble, dry, heat-resistant surface.
DANGER! Risk of injury
through burning! The inter-
changeable plates and outer surfac-
es of the device become very hot
during operation. Only touch the
control elements of the device dur-
ing operation.
NOTE: you may notice an odour when us-
ing for the first time. This is a result of the
manufacturing process and is not a defect
with the device. Ensure adequate ventila-
tion.
• Clean the interchangeable
plates|7 and the outer surfaces
before first use (see "Cleaning"
on page 9)!
Follow the following steps for each pair of
interchangeable plates|7:
1. Lightly grease the interchangeable
plates|7 with a little cooking oil.
2. Insert one pair of interchangeable
plates at a time (2x|7a,|7b+7c
or|7d+7e)(see "Inserting interchange-
able plates" on page 6).
3. Close the device and the device
lock|3.
4. Completely unwind the power cable|4.
5. Connect the mains plug|4 with a wall
socket. The power indicator|2 is illumi-
nated as long as the device is connect-
ed to the power supply.
6. Leave the device for approx. 10 min-
utes to heat up, at least until the green
control lamp|1 lights up.
7. Pull out the mains plug|4 and allow the
device to cool.
8. Remove/change the interchangeable
plates|7.
• Once you have carried out these steps
with all the interchangeable plates|7,
clean the interchangeable plates|7 and
the outer surfaces again (see "Clean-
ing" on page 9).

7. Baking waffles

FIRE HAZARD! Before turning the

through burning! The inter-
changeable plates and outer surfac-
es of the device become very hot
during operation. Only touch the
control elements of the device dur-
ing operation.
WARNING! Risk of material dam-
age! Hard and pointed objects (such as met-
al spoons) can damage the non-stick coating
of the interchangeable plates. Only use kitch-
en utensils made of wood or heat-resistant
plastic to remove the finished waffles.

Waffle nuts / Shaped
waffles
1. Prepare a suitable batter (see "Reci-
pes" on page 10).
2. Choose the desired pair of interchange-
able plates (for waffle nuts:|7b+7c or
for shaped waffles:|7d+7e) and insert
them into the device (see "Inserting inter-
changeable plates" on page 6).
3. Lightly grease the interchangeable
plates|7 with a little cooking oil. Use a
brush to spread the oil.
4. Close the device and the device lock|3.
5. Completely unwind the power cable|4.
6. Connect the mains plug|4 with a wall
socket. The power indicator|2 is illumi-
nated as long as the device is connect-
ed to the power supply.
