Adding Partitions

Perform the following procedure to create an additional partition in a free space of a hard disk drive installed in
slot0 of CPU/IO module 0 and CPU/IO module 1. In the following example, a RAID1 device (/dev/md/data) is
created in a partition of 10GB and that partition is set as "/mnt/data".
1.
Log in to the server as the root user. If you login with graphical mode, select [Others...] to login.

Execute the following command to set the slot 0 of the CPU/IO 0.
# parted /dev/disk/by-dpid/disk-104001

Using /dev/sdq

Execute the print sub command to check the partition status.
(parted) print

Execute the mkpart sub command to create the partition.
(parted) mkpart

If the partition is wrongly operated, the system may not start up or data may be

lost. Be sure to back up the important data before starting the work. Especially,
the results of the sub command executed by the parted command will be
reflected to the disk immediately. Take extreme care when operating it.
LVM is not supported.

* Input the desired partition name.
* Input the partition start position.
* Input the partition end position.
The unit of the partition start/end is MB. GB can be used as a unit as described above.
