Using "HyperTerminal" via the Serial Interface of a PC
This terminal program is supplied as a standard part of the operating system, e.g.
WINDOWS® 98, WINDOWS® ME, WINDOWS® 2000 and WINDOWS® XP.
Start HyperTerminal under:

Note: The Serial Modem can only be set via the serial interface in the currently set
baudrate and data format. If these settings were changed, the connection settings in
HyperTerminal would have to be adjusted.
It is advisable to note down these settings to avoid any problems accessing the
modem later.
