Note: Two download options are available in the Download Mode section: FTP
(default) or Secure Download (encrypted data transmission that makes use of
TCP port 20500).
The NK823x Web Server
The NK823x Web Server provides diagnostic information about the NK8237 (to
access the NK823x Web Server, see NK823x Web Server [➙ 25]):
In the welcome page an image of the NK8237 shows an animation

representing the current status of the LEDs (off, on, or blinking).
After the login, a detailed list of diagnostic information is available.

– If you log in with the Administrator profile, you have to click Diagnostic NK
to display the list of diagnostic information.
Available diagnostic information:
Current date and time.

Product ID: for example, NK8235.

HW version: hardware version, for example NKM8001-A2.

HW configuration: hardware configuration, for example 2 serial ports.

FW version: firmware version.

Add-on information: list of installed add-on components.

Linux kernel version.

PIC FW version: firmware version of PIC microcontroller (for NKM8001-A2

mainboard only).
Free RAM.

Free memory on SD card / USB MSC: free memory available on the SD card

and on the USB mass storage device (if available).
Branch number: ID assigned to the NK823x in the project configuration.

Configuration info of the interfaces: information about configured interfaces, for

example IP configuration of Ethernet ports and configuration of COM ports.
Status of connections: for example normal, not configured, active, inactive

status of COM ports, Ethernet ports, relay output.
Last restart: date and time of the last restart.

Last configuration change: date and time of the last configuration change.

Status of logging: active, inactive, active (modified) after on-the-fly

configuration changes have been set (by NW8204 tool).
Status of firewall: enabled or disabled, and the selected firewall configuration.

Status of routing between ETH1 and ETH2: enabled or disabled.


Correcting communication failures

Firewall communication problems

If a communication fault occurs on the firewall, there may be one or more causes.
The problem may be in the NK8237 unit, or in the connections.
Check the NK8237
Check power, vital function, and diagnostic state on the respective LED, which is
located on the front panel.
