Communication via RS485 Interface

Devices equipped with an RS485 interface can communicate serially with peripheral devices using the Modbus
RTU Master and Modbus RTU Slave bus protocol. The serial interface supports the transmission of measured
data and indications. The connection is a 9-pin D-sub connector plug.

The RS485 interface comes with the following parameters set by the manufacturer:

Additional inter-character timeout
Maximum 0x/1x register gap
Maximum 3x/4x register gap
You can modify these parameters during the parameterization, see Device Manual SICAM Q100, chapters 8
and 9.
