Operation

Preparing to Operate the
Machine for the First Time
WARNING
Operating the machine with this kit before reading
all the instructions could lead to personal injury or
damage to property.
Read these Installation Instructions in conjunction
with the Operator's Manual for the trailed mower
before using the mower fitted with this Electric Lift
Kit, and ensure that all operators understand all the
instructions.
Important: Check the electrical system of the machine,
especially the condition of the umbilical cable assembly
and the connections between the machine and the
tractor. Ensure that the electrical system is in full
working order and that the emergency-stop system is
fully operational.
WARNING
Hydraulic fluid escaping under pressure can
penetrate skin. Fluid injected into the skin must be
surgically removed within a few hours by a doctor
familiar with this form of injury, or gangrene may
result.
• Make sure that all hydraulic-fluid hoses and
lines are in good condition and all hydraulic
connections and fittings are tight before
applying pressure to the hydraulic system.
• Keep your body and hands away from pinhole
leaks or nozzles that eject high-pressure
hydraulic fluid.
• Use cardboard or paper to find hydraulic leaks;
never use your hands.
• Safely relieve all pressure in the hydraulic system
before performing any work on the hydraulic
system.
• Seek immediate medical attention if fluid is
injected into skin.
When the machine is not connected to the tractor, mount
the remote-control box on the bracket on the machine.
When the machine is connected to the tractor, mount the
remote-control box on the bracket in the tractor.
Hook the umbilical cable around the electrical control box to
lift it off the floor and prevent it from being crushed.
Reset the electrical control system when powering it up for
the first time or any time when electrical power is restored to
the control box. Reset the system as follows:
1. Before engaging the PTO, operate the individual cutter
lift / lower switches and the override switch, and move
the cutter switch to the neutral (N) position.
2. Ensure that the Emergency Stop button is reset by
rotating the button clockwise until it pops out.

Operating the Machine

Refer to the machine Operator's Manual for more detailed
instructions on how to operate the machine.
1. Ensure that the immediate area is entirely clear.
2. Ensure that the tractor parking brake is set, the PTO
drive is disengaged, the engine is stopped, and the
ignition key is removed.
3. Set all cutting unit arm transport latches to the
automatic latching position, as shown in
