3-10. Upgrading the FPGA Program Version

The DSR-2000A/P mounts the FPGA (field programmable gate alley) on the process board and uses flash
ROMs for loading this program.
The version of data (configuration program data) these flash ROMs mounted on the board can be upgrad-
ed using the following method.

3-10-1. Upgrading the Version

(1) Prepare a DJ-499 (J-6444-990-A).
(2) Write the required number of rewrittable program files in the PROM (M27C1001-70F1 (F8) (8-759-
583-91) or equivalent). Refer to the following for the number required.
n
Write the one program file into the one PROM.
For writing the two program files (program file No. 00, and 01), the two PROMs are required.
(3) Mount the PROMs to the DJ-499 IC100 to IC103.
n
When the EEPROMs written the program are less than four pieces, mount only the EEPROMs
written the program.

(4) Set the DJ-499 as follows.
(5) With the power of the unit set to OFF, mount the connector of the corresponding board to DJ-499.
(6) Turn ON the power of the unit.
. Of the three LEDs on the DJ-499, the green D1 at the end lights up and goes off.
(The dummy data will be loaded in the FPGA. It will be completed when D1 goes off.)
. The same green D1 will blink after a while.
(The flash ROM on the board is erased and new data is downloaded.)
. It stops blinking, and the green D2 in the middle lights up, meaning that upgrading has ended
normally.
. If the red D3 in the middle lights up halfway through, it means that a writing error has occurred.
Check if the DJ-499 is connected properly, and perform from step (6).
