Operating System

The VSB 40.1 is a control cabinet PC that forms a PC-based operator terminal
when combined with a VDP 16 or VDP 40 display. Depending on the application
and configuration, the operator terminal can also fulfill control functionalities.

The VSB 40.1 control cabinet is connected to a VDP 16 or VDP 40 display with
a 30 meter cable via the G4 or G5 display interface. Thus, the VSB 40.1 can
be installed in the control cabinet and the display in its door or at the machine.
Longer connections are also possible. These are described in the project plan‐
ning manual for the VDP 16, VDP 40 display.
All components of the VSB 40.1 including the hard drive and the power supply
unit are accommodated in the so-called PC box. The PC box provides six PCI
slots at the slots A1 to A6.
The plugboard is equipped with the PC standard interfaces. A plug-in card,
which provides the G4 or G5 display interface, is inserted in A0 slot.
Optionally, the VSB 40.1 control cabinet PC can be equipped with a DVD-ROM
drive or with a DVD-RW drive.
For license reasons the VSB 40.1 control cabinet PC is only delivered with
already installed operating system.
