6.3 Electrical interfaces

Connect the electrical interfaces according to the electrical documentation.
Observe the electrical documentation of both KUKA Roboter GmbH and
Bosch Rexroth GmbH.
To avoid electromagnetic interference, unused cables, e.g. I/O cables, must be
connected to the protective conductor connection of the application.
Requirements for the electrical connection
• The disconnect function is implemented according to EN 60204-1 (4.12.1).
• The EMERGENCY STOP function is implemented according to EN 60204-1 (4.12.8).
• PELV voltage is available for the control circuit in the safety module.
• The connection of PE and 0V must be disconnected in the safety module and
ensured in the customer control cabinet prior to commissioning.
• The dielectric strength of the isolation of cables placed outside of the
installation spaces complies with EN 60204-1 (4.16).
Cable placement according to EN 60204-1
The sensor skin cable must be placed at a distance of at least 0.5 m to the KUKA
drive cables (X20 to X30) or in cable ducts separately shielded against each other.
Flexible cables must be placed in such a way that they are protected and/or the
following misuse is not possible:
• Driving over them with vehicles and other machines
• Contact with the machine construction during movement
• Running in and/or out of cable baskets or cable drums
• Acceleration forces and wind forces for cable festoon systems or free-hanging
cables
• Excessive friction by cable pickups
• Impact of excessive radiant heat
