4. Ensure that the parking-brake switch is in the
engaged position.
5. Start the engine.
6. Raise the platform; refer to
(page 4).
7. Check the fittings and hoses at the front
hydraulic manifold and hydraulic pump for leaks.
Note:
Repair any hydraulic leaks.
8. Repeat steps 1 through
platform.
9. Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait for
all moving parts to stop.
Checking the Hydraulic Fluid
Check the hydraulic fluid level in the tank—add
hydraulic fluid as needed; refer to Checking the
Hydraulic Fluid in the Operator's Manual for your
machine.
Testing Differential Lock

Operation.

Important:
Do not engage the differential lock at
high speeds or during sharp turns, otherwise you
may damage the transmission.
1. Start the engine, raise the cutting units, and
disengage the parking brake.
2. Drive the machine at a slow ground speed in a
gradual circle.
3. Press and hold the differential-lock switch.
Note:
You should feel the front wheels rotate at
the same speed (locked).
Important:
Only engage the differential lock
for a short duration.
4. Release the differential-lock switch.

5. Park the machine on a level surface, engage
the parking brake, lower the cutting units, shut
off the engine and remove the key. Wait for
all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operator's position.
Operation

Using the Differential Lock

Engaging the differential lock limits the amount of
wheel slip between the front wheels (i.e., it causes a
slipping front wheel to turn at a similar speed as the
other wheels).
Important:
Do not engage the differential lock at
high speeds or during sharp turns, otherwise you
may damage the transmission.
1. Press and hold the differential-lock switch as
shown in Figure 47
