Mounting the lid
NOTES:
• For safety reasons, the blending process
will only start when the lid 2 is correctly
mounted.
• To make it a little easier to close the
lid 2, place a few drops of cooking oil
onto a cloth and rub it over the seal 4.
4. Place the lid 2 slightly distorted onto the
blender jug 5.
5. Rotate the lid 2 clockwise until it stops.
The device is now fully assembled. On work-
ing with the device: see "Basic operation"
on page 12.

9. Basic operation

9.1 Power supply

1. Assemble the device for the desired
function.
2. Check that the speed control 11 is set
to 0 (off).
3. Plug the mains plug 13 into a suitable
wall socket. The wall socket must contin-
ue to be easily accessible after the de-
vice is plugged in.
4. Pull out the mains plug before cleaning
the device.
9.2 Switching the device on/
off and selecting speed
WARNING! Risk of material damage!
The mixing mechanism must not be op-
erated continuously for longer than
10 minutes, or the blender for longer
than 3 minutes. You must then allow the
device to cool down to room tempera-
ture.
NOTE: the device only works when either
the cover 8 is mounted (for the mixing tools)
or the lid 2 is correctly mounted on the
blender jug 5.
1. Switch the device on by turning the
speed control 11 to the right.
2. Start at a slightly lower speed, and
slowly increase to the desired speed
(see "Overview of functions" on
page 9).
3. Reduce the speed to setting 1 - 2 when
you are adding ingredients during oper-
ation through the filling opening 20 or
the refill opening 3.
4. Set the speed control 11 to 0 to switch
the device off.
