Battery status lights

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the battery light operates as follows:
Alternately blinking An unauthenticated or unsupported non-Dell AC adapter is attached to your laptop.
amber light and
white light
Alternately blinking Temporary battery failure with AC adapter present.
amber light with
steady white light
Constantly blinking Fatal battery failure with AC adapter present.
amber light
Solid white Battery in charge mode with AC adapter present.
Light off Battery in full charge mode with AC adapter present.
Light off Battery in full charge mode without AC adapter present.
Solid amber Battery charge is critically low (approximately 30 minutes or less of battery life remaining), without AC
adapter present.
