Chapter 2 Preparations
Note the following precautions to connect cables.
•
When the device is not Plug and Play device, turn off the server and devices before connecting.
•
If connecting any peripheral device and its interface cable made by other companies (a third party),
contact your sales representative to check if they can be used with the server beforehand.
•
SCSI devices can be connected once the optional SCSI controller is installed. Make sure that the total
length of the cable including the connection cable inside the SCSI device is within 3m.
•
Fix the power cord or interface cable with cable ties.
•
Make sure that no pressure is applied on the plug of power cord.
•
If you connect an external USB DVD-ROM drive to a USB connector at the front of the server, do not
connect any other device to the adjacent USB port.
* The ports in a box in the images below are "adjacent USB ports".

Tips
2 ports USB connectors at the rear of the server are supplied with power even
when DC is off.
