Each time you press COUNTER MODE, the counter
changes as follows.

At the beginning of the tape, "#7" may appear and
immediately go off at the PGM NO. indicator position
depending on some types of pre-recorded tapes.
("33" stands for "beginning".)

Toreset the counter to OM OOS, press RESET.
When playing back a pre-recorded tape (software),
remaining time to the end of the recorded portion appears.
To check the sampling frequencies recorded on the
tape — Frequency Map
Press 4 on the music selector while keeping COUNTER
MODE pressed.
Bars on the level meter light to signify the sampling
frequencies with which the material was recorded. (No bars
light until 16 seconds after playback starts.)

"TOP", "MID" and "END" indicate the beginning, middle
and end of each tape respectively.

The selection is played back from the middle.

The tape is being fast-forwarded or rewound.

The cassette compartment is opened or closed by OPEN/
CLOSE.
Adjusting the headphones volume
Use the PHONE LEVEL control.
When the tape is played back to its end
The tape will be rewound to the beginning and stop
automatically.
Remaining time does not appear in the following cases
e
Immediately after the deck is set in the playback mode.
The remaining time will appear about 16 seconds later.

When playback is started from a blank section (page 18),
the remaining time may not appear. Press <#d or Hd,
Accuracy of the indicator for the remaining time
According to the kind of tape, the indicated time may differ
slightly from the actual remaining time.
If tape noise exists, or sound quality has deteriorated
The head may be contaminated. Clean the head, using a
cleaning cassette (See page 41).
When the EMPHASIS indicator appears
When playing back the portion with emphasis, the built-in
de-emphasis circuit lowers the high frequency level
automatically.
On the REC MONITOR switch
During playback, the tape sound is selected regardless of
the switch position.
However, at the SOURCE position, the
program source is automatically selected when the
playback stops.
