Local Control

The TRICK offers limited control capability via its front panel (refer to Figure 1-2). Local control is
applicable to situations where the TRICK is installed on a desk in front of the base station/repeater
operator and is also useful for service engineers, who may wish to temporarily control the TRICK
during testing or system fault finding at the installation site.
The local control capability consists of;
a button (SET-UP) which enables the operator to toggle between repeater Set-Up and
repeater Knocked-Down modes, ie if the repeater is not set up, pressing this button once
selects the Set-Up mode, pressing a second time will exit repeater mode (repeater
Knocked-Down).
a socket provided to allow a service microphone or handset, such as the Motorola HMN3141,
to be connected directly to the TRICK. The microphone or handset may be used for
monitoring traffic and communications with radio operators in the field.
