2.1.1
System Description
The Customer:
A taxi company operating in an urban environment
A central despatcher controlling a fleet of 25 vehicles
The Customer Requirement:
communications between single desktop despatcher and the drivers
(ie no radio-to-radio communications required)
coverage between tall buildings
Proposed Solution:
simple PL system on UHF frequencies
Locate antenna and base station equipment on top of a local tower block to ensure
coverage into areas of high-rise buildings. Secure equipment room available at top of
building.
Leased landline connection between the remote site and a single Motorola Centro Plus
desktop controller.
Locate the following equipment within the equipment room;
If a secure equipment room is not available the radio and the TRICK controller could be
installed within an ENLN4055 repeater/base station housing kit, mounted on a wall.
Note:
since the transmitter intermodulation performance of a mobile radio is insufficient for
"communal site" (multi-transmitter) operation.
Leased landline connection between the remote site and a single Motorola Centro Plus
desktop controller.
1-16
a single GM350 mobile radio with base tray option
an TRICK controller module
a power supply
a cable to connect the radio accessory connector to the TRICK
