Tap
to select the baud rate. The options are: 9600, 19200, 38400,
57600 and 115200 bits per second.

Tap On at the Data Cable: prompt to use the Data cable for data
transmission.
If an error occurs during transmission, the message Data Cable
Disconnected will be displayed.

Using Infrared for Data Transmission

If an Infrared connection is preferred as the connecting mode, tap on the IR
Link prompt to enable it, and you will see the following display.
If an IR Link is established, the status will change from OFF to ON
automatically at the Ir Link: prompt.
Failure to find the device will result in a Device Not Found message being
displayed.
If an error occurs during transmission, the message IR Link Broken will be
displayed.
No matter you are using Data Cable connection or Infrared connection, once
the connection has been established, you can then treat the 388 as an
ordinary modem to connect your PC to the Internet.
