1 Introducing HP NetServer AutoPilot
By assigning a client workstation to network management, you can use HP AutoPilot
to oversee all HP NetServer E Series connected on the local network. HP AutoPilot
helps manage your HP NetServers by:
monitoring the operations of multiple HP NetServers—even if they are running
different network operating systems. HP AutoPilot provides immediate notification
of network problems.
alerting you to potential problems. Server up-time is critical to your business. You
want to be able to identify problems—and if possible fix them—before you get
calls from your users.
A typical HP AutoPilot notification is shown in Figure 2. In this case, the HP
NetServer "Seattle" is notifying the HP AutoPilot Client via the network that a hard
drive is nearing total storage capacity.
Special NSA software "agents" running on the server's network operating system
(NOS) have relayed information to the HP AutoPilot Client about the changed
condition at the server "Seattle."
