3 Using HP NetServer AutoPilot

This chapter describes HP AutoPilot services. It assumes that you are familiar with
the concepts and terminology introduced in Chapter 1, and that you have already set
up the HP AutoPilot Client and installed HP AutoPilot on at least one HP NetServer E
Series.

Running HP NetServer AutoPilot

HP AutoPilot is a service that, once installed, loads automatically whenever the HP
AutoPilot Client is booted. The HP AutoPilot icon appears in the lower-left corner of
the HP AutoPilot Client's display (default position) to indicate that the HP AutoPilot
alarm and notification service is operational.
Click the HP AutoPilot icon to open a standard Windows dialog box. You can then
either:
1. Close HP AutoPilot service
OR
2. Reposition the icon.
Double-click the HP AutoPilot icon to display a panel with HP AutoPilot version
information.
NOTE If you choose to close the HP AutoPilot service at the HP AutoPilot Client,
you will no longer be notified of changed conditions on your HP NetServers.
Restart HP AutoPilot by clicking the Program icon in the HP AutoPilot
group, or by rebooting the HP AutoPilot Client.
