Use this menu selection to change settings that affect print quality and save toner.
Menu selection: Purpose:
Print Resolution To select printed output resolution.
Toner Darkness Lightens or darkens printed output and conserves toner.
Brightness Adjusts the gray value of printed objects.
Contrast Adjusts the contrast of printed objects.

Utilities Menu

Use this menu selection to change printer settings, remove jobs, set up printer hardware, and troubleshoot printer problems.
Menu Purpose:

Factory Returns printer settings to the factory default values.

Remove Held Removes confidential and held jobs from the printer
Jobs hard disk.
Job Acct Stat Prints a listing of all job statistics stored on the hard
disk, or clears all statistics on the disk.
Hex Trace Helps isolate the source of a print job problem.
Coverage Provides an estimate of the percent coverage of black
Estimator toner on a page. The estimate is printed on a
separator page.

PostScript Menu

Use this menu selection to change printer settings that affect jobs using the PostScript printer language.
Menu selection: Purpose:
Print PS Error Prints a page defining the PostScript emulation error when an error occurs. Off* Discards the print job without printing an error message.

PCL Emul Menu

Use this menu selection to change printer settings that affect jobs using the PCL emulation printer language.
Menu Purpose:

Resident* Displays all fonts resident in printer RAM when the printer ships from the factory.
8* is the default setting.
Select a lower number to lighten the printed output or save toner.
0* is the default setting.
User-defined settings remain.
All menu items are returned to the factory default values except:
Display Language.

All settings in the Parallel Menu, Serial Menu, Network Menu,
l
and USB Menu.
Resources residing in flash memory or on the hard disk.

NOTE: All downloaded resources (fonts, macros, and symbol sets) in
printer memory (RAM) are deleted.
Selecting a menu value only affects jobs that are resident in the
printer. Bookmarks and other types of held jobs are not affected.
Prints all statistics available for the most recent print jobs.
Deletes all accumulated job statistics from the hard disk.
With Hex Trace selected, all data sent to the printer is printed in
hexadecimal and character representation. Control codes are not
executed.
NOTE: To exit Hex Trace, turn the printer off, or reset the printer:
1. Press the Stop button .
2. Press the Down arrow button
Reset printer, and then press the Select button
Percent coverage is not printed.
Prints the estimated percentage of toner coverage on the page.
