Channel Search

The Settings > Channel Search menu contains all the options you require to update the
list of channels. Because the data for individual channels is updated from time to time,
you should perform the channel search at regular intervals.
Your set-top box considers the following rules when updating the list of channels:
u
All previously stored channels are preserved; duplicate entries in the channel list are
avoided.
u
Stored channels are updated.
u
Newly found channels are added to the end of the channel list.
Note: Channels that you deleted manually are added again with the automatic chan-
nel search.
Defining and Starting the Channel Search
The scope of the channel search and therefore the duration of the search process is
dependent on your settings in the Channel Search menu. You can choose here, for
example, between two variants of the Search Mode option:
u
Automatic Search: Your set-top box searches all channels automatically for availa-
ble channels. You can choose here whether only unencrypted or also encrypted
channels are to be found. Other settings are not required.
u
Manual Search: When you select this search mode, you can additionally set the
M
Channel option in order to search selectively for a new channel.
> Settings > Channel Search
w o
Choose the desired search criterion and open the associated selection
dialog.
w o
Choose and confirm the desired setting in the selection dialog, see
"Defining the search criteria" on page 73. Repeat this process until all
desired search criteria have been set.
n
Start the channel search with the Start Search option.
Depending on the search criteria you select, the channel search may take
a few minutes. The channels found are listed during the search.
