Completing the parts replacement

After completing the installation or replacement for all parts, you need to install the computer cover and
connect cables.
To install the computer cover and connect cables, do the following:
1. Ensure that all components have been reassembled correctly and that no tools or loose screws are left
inside your computer. See "Locating major FRUs and CRUs" on page 68 for the locations of various
components in your computer.
2. Ensure that the cables are routed correctly before installing the computer cover. Keep cables clear of
the hinges and sides of the chassis to avoid interference with installing the computer cover.
3. Position the computer cover into place and then tighten the two screws

4. Install the computer stand. See "Removing and installing the computer stand" on page 73.
5. If a Kensington-style cable lock is available, lock the computer cover.
6. Connect the external cables and the power cord to the computer.
7. Depending on the parts you installed or replaced, you might need to confirm the updated information in
the Setup Utility program. Refer to Chapter 5 "Using the Setup Utility program" on page 53.
Note: In most areas of the world, Lenovo requires the return of the defective Customer Replaceable Unit
(CRU). Information about this will come with the CRU or will come a few days after the CRU arrives.
