6. Remove the two screws

7. Disconnect the two converter-board cables from the converter board, and then remove the converter
board from the chassis.
8. To install the new converter board, connect the two converter-board cables to the new converter board.
9. Position the converter board so that the two screw holes in the converter board align with the
corresponding holes in the chassis, and then install the two screws to secure the converter board to
the chassis.
10. Install the optical drive. See "Replacing the optical drive" on page 83.

Removing and installing the system-board shield

This section provides instructions on how to remove and install the system-board shield.
Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Safety information" on page 1.
To remove and install the system-board shield, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all attached devices and the computer. Then, disconnect
all power cords from electrical outlets and disconnect all cables that are connected to the computer.
