TROUBLESHOOTING

THE STARTER MOTOR DOES NOT WORK
NOTE:
• Use the following tools in this fault location
Pocket tester:
90890 -03112
1. Fuse (main)
• Check the condition of the fuse.
See "INSPECTING THE FUSE" in
CHAPTER 3.
OK
2. Battery
• Check the condition of the battery.
See "INSPECTING THE BATTERY" in
CHAPTER 3.
OK
3. Starter motor
• Connect a bridge
• Check the operation of the starter motor
OK
ELECTRIC START SYSTEM
NOT OK
Change the fuse
NOT
OK
Charge or change the
battery
NOT
OK
Repair or change the
starter motor
4. Neutral relay
• Remove the relay
• Use the battery to supply terminals Br
and Sb.
• Then check the continuity between GB
and BW
OK
5. Starter relay
• Remove the relay
• Use the battery to supply terminals Br
and WG.
• Check the continuity between R and R
OK
