Making Checks on the Scanner Side

<Making Initial Checks>
Does the
image have a vertical
line?
YES
Clean the following:
1. Mirrors
2. Lens
3. Standard white plate
4. Copyboard glass
Execute the following in service mode:
1. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>CCD-ADJ
2. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>LUT-ADJ
<Checking Halftone Density>

Make a copy
of the A3 Chart in text/photo
mode. Is the density of No. 8 proper as
compared with No. 7 through
No. 9 of the Test
Chart?
NO
If too light,
Increase the value of the
following in service mode:
COPIER>ADJUST>DENS>
DENS-ADJ.
Make a copy of the A3
Chart in text/photo
mode.
Does the
density of gray scale
No. 8 (halftone)
YES
change?
NO
Go to
"Checking Halftone Density"
on the printer side.

Check how the
standard white plate is
mounted; if not in firm
contact, mount it
correctly.
Execute the following in service mode:
1. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>CCD-ADJ
2. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>LUT-AJ

a difference in density
between front and
rear?
YES
End.

Go to
If too dark,
"Checking the Density Slope"
on the printer side.
Decrease the value of the
following in service mode:
COPIER>ADJUST>DENS>
DENS-ADJ.

Is the
image of gray Scale
NO

No. 1 (solid black) copied of the
NA3 Chart in text mode
too light?
YES
Check the life of the
scanning lamp; if its
end is reached,
replace it.
Clean the following:
1. Mirrors
2. Lens
3. Standard white plate
4. Dust-proofing glass
5. Scanning lamp
6. Reflecting plate
Execute potential
control.
Turn off and then on
the power switch, and
make a copy.
Execute the following in service mode:
NO
1. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>CCD-ADJ
2. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>LUT-ADJ
Is gray scale
NO
No. 1 (solid black) too
light?
YES
Go to
"Checking the Solid Black"
on the printer side.
