Front Panel Indicators

 The front panel of the system contains all of the Ethernet ports and LEDs. As shown in the following figure, there is one system LED, one redundant power
supply (RPS) LED, one diagnostic LED, and one LED for each port on the front panel.
 
System LED
 An LED is used to show the general operating status of the system. The power and diagnostic LEDs show the following indications:
 Power
l
 Off — The system is not powered up.

 Green — Main power is functional.
¡
 Diagnostic
l
 Off — The system is not powered up.
¡
 Green — The unit is operating after a successful boot up.
¡
 Amber — The unit is in boot mode.
¡
 Blinking Amber — The unit fails to boot.
¡
Power LED
 The power LED shows the general operating status of the system as reflected by the following indicators:
 Off — The unit is off.

 Green — The unit is on and ready for operation.
l
 Yellow — The unit is in boot mode.
l
 Blinking Yellow — The unit fails during initialization.
l
 The normal sequence after power-on or system reset is Green (initialization success), Yellow (booting applications), and Green again (system ready).
RPS LED
 The RPS LED shows the operating status of a connected redundant power unit. Indicator states include:
 Off — The redundant power supply is not connected.
l
 Green — The redundant power supply is operating normally.
l
 Red — The redundant power supply has failed.
l
Console Port
 The console interface can be accessed from the RS-232 serial port or a Telnet connection. The console port uses a standard null-modem cable. For instructions

 Each port has a dedicated LED whose mode may be switched using the button located on the front panel. The LED mode button will toggle through the
following modes:
 Link/Act Mode
l
 Speed Mode
l
 Duplex/Collision Mode.
l
10/100 Ports
