GRASS CUTTING FAULTS

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Turning too tightly
Mower sliding sideways when
travelling across face of slope
One end of cutterdeck out of ground contact
caused by:
- Poorly routed hoses or wrongly
positioned hydraulic adaptors
- Pivot pins seizing
- Grass build up under cutterdeck
Inconsistent height of cut settings between
the cutterdecks
Raise/lower position control not in float
position

Undulating ground contours
Cutterdecks worn or damaged
Height of cut is too high
Cutting edges of cutterdecks/
bottom blades are rounded
Cutterblades out of balance
Cutterdeck gauge wheels damaged
Inconsistent height of cut settings
Slow cutterblade rotational speed
Undulations too severe for height of cut
setting
Height of cut too low
REMEDY
Increase turning radius
Mow up/down slope
Reroute hoses/reposition hydraulic adaptors
Free off and grease pivot points
Remove grass
Check and readjust height of cut
settings
Operate position control to float
position
Reroute hoses/reposition hydraulic adaptors
Free off and grease pivot pins
Remove grass
Change direction of cut
Sharpen or replace as necessary
Lower height of cut setting
Back lap or regrind to restore cutting edges
Replace as necessary
Inspect and replace as necessary
Check and readjust height of cut settings
Refer to TROUBLE SHOOTING
Use floating cutterdecks
Raise height of cut
