Driving Forward or Backward

The throttle control regulates the engine speed as measured
in rpm (revolutions per minute). Place the throttle control in
the fast position for best performance. Always operate in the
full throttle position when mowing.
CAUTION
The machine can spin very rapidly. The operator
may lose control of the machine and cause personal
injury or damage to the machine.
• Use caution when making turns.
• Slow the machine down before making sharp
turns.
Using the Motion Control Levers
1. Motion control
lever-neutral lock position
2. Center, unlocked position
3. Forward
Driving Forward
Note: The engine will kill if the traction control levers are
moved with the parking brake engaged.
To stop, pull the motion control levers to the neutral position.
1. Release the parking brake; refer to
Releasing the Parking Brake (page 18).

4. Backward

2. Move the levers to the center, unlocked position.
3. To go forward, slowly push the motion control levers
forward (Figure 27).
Driving Backward
1. Look behind the machine to ensure that there is a clear
path to drive the machine backward.
Note: Do not back machine for a long distance; turn
the machine around and drive forward.
2. Move the levers to the center, unlocked position.
3. To go backward, slowly pull the motion control levers
rearward (Figure 28).
