Busy Station Signaling (BSS)

Description
Used to prompt a busy extension (ringing or engaged in a call) to answer a new incoming call.
When BSS is activated by the calling extension, a call waiting tone is generated at the busy
extension to inform that another call is waiting.
Conditions
• BSS feature functions, if the other busy extension is an ICM type PT in the following status:
(1) The extension is off-hook.
(2) ICM button is idle.
(3) "Call Waiting" is enabled.
• BSS / OHCA / Whisper OHCA
If an extension user dials "1" while hearing a busy tone, BSS or OHCA or Whisper OHCA
may be activated at the called extension.
This is determined by the following conditions.

OHCA (Off-Hook Call Announcement) is activated when the called extension is KX-T7130, KX-T7235 or KX-T7436.

Whisper OHCA is activated when both calling and called extensions are using one of the KX-T7400 series PTs.

• BSS, OHCA and whisper OHCA do not function, if the other extension is a DN type PT.
