Chapter 17 Mobile terminal management

17.1 Manage files

Press m > Applications > File mgr.
With File manager, you can browse, manage, and open files on
your mobile terminal.
◆ View the files stored in your mobile terminal
Press m > Applications > File mgr. and the desired memory.
The folders on the root of the memory are displayed.
◆ Organise files
You can use the File manager application to delete, move, copy, or
create new files and folders.
Press m > Applications > File mgr.
Create a new folder
In the folder where you want to create a sub-folder, select Options
> Organise > New folder.
Copy or move a file to a folder
Select Options, and select the appropriate option.
◆ Back up files
You can back up the device memory to a memory card.
Press m > Applications > File mgr. > Backup.
It is recommended that you back up the device memory regularly
to a memory card.

17.2 Increase available memory for more
content
When saving a large amount of data (e.g., multimedia data), store
it in a microSD/microSDHC card.

17.3 Manage applications

Press m > Settings > Application manager.
With Application manager you can view details of installed
applications, remove applications, and define installation settings.
You can install the following types of applications:
Java
ME applications that have the .jad or .jar file extension
Applications, compatible with the Symbian operating system,
that have the .sis or .sisx file extension
Widgets that have the .wgz file extension
Only install applications that are compatible with your mobile
terminal.
◆ Remove an application from your mobile terminal
You can remove installed applications that you no longer need or
use, to increase the amount of available memory.
Press m > Settings > Application manager.

Select Installed apps.

Select the application you want to remove, and select Options
> Uninstall.
