8.4.1 Replacing an SPD Module

Prerequisites
Do not replace a surge protective device (SPD) module during a thunderstorm.


Possible Cause
 The transformation ratio
is incorrectly set for the
current or voltage.

Cables to the
corresponding current
transformer and voltage
collector are not properly
connected.
 The current transformer
is faulty.

The smart electricity
meter is faulty.
 Cables to the indicators
are not properly
connected.
 The indicators are faulty.

8 Operation and Maintenance
Solution
1. Set transformation ratio
based on the actual rated
current.
2. Check that cables to the
corresponding current
transformer and voltage
collector are properly
connected.
3. If cables are correctly
connected, check the
current transformer. If
the current transformer is
faulty, replace it.
4. If cables are correctly
connected and the
current transformer
works properly, check
the smart electricity
meter. If the meter is
faulty, replace it.
1. Check that cables to the
indicators are properly
connected.
2. Check the indicators. If
the indicators are faulty,
replace them.
