Handling precautions
Be sure to observe the following precautions for the proper operation of the product. Ignoring the
precautions may cause property damage (data and other device).
This product is an electronic component sensitive to static electricity. Before handling this product,
touch the metal frame part of the product to discharge static electricity from your body. Do not touch
the terminal and electronic components with your bare hand, or place the product directly on the
desk.
Install the product in an appropriate place.
Do not drop the product. Doing so may cause malfunction and failure.
When installing/removing the product, hold the part covered with a metal plate. When carrying the
product, put it in the bag used at the shipment, pack them in carton box.
If you disconnect the power cord from outlet, wait for at least 30 seconds before connecting it again.
If any Uninterruptible Power Supply unit (UPS) is connected, set it to wait for at least 30 seconds before
turning on the product after power off.
It is recommended that the product should be stored in a place where the room temperature can be
maintained for successful operation.
Observe the storage conditions (Temperature: 40 to 70C, Humidity: 5 to 95%, No condensation of
moisture) to store the product for long time.
This product contains precision components that is easily affected by rapid temperature change. If the
product is relocated or stored, leave the product in the operating environment until it fully adapts to
the surroundings. In particular, pay attention to operating environment so that rapid temperature
change may not occur.
Unplug the power cord from the outlet before relocating the product.
Momentary voltage drop may occur due to lightning strike. To prevent this, use of UPS is
recommended.
In the following cases, check and adjust the system clock before operation.
After carriage of the product
After long-term storage of the product
After the product is entered into the pause state under the environmental condition exceeding the
operation guarantee range (temperature: 0 to 45°C, humidity: 5 to 95%).
When the system clock is installed in a system requiring high time precision, it is recommended to use
a time server (NTP server). If the time server is not used, check the system clock at the rough rate of
once per month.
If the system clock is remarkably delayed or advanced as the passage of time in spite of adjustment,
contact your service representative to ask maintenance.
Be sure to turn off the cell phone or PHS near the product. Electric waves from such devices can cause
product to malfunction.
Make sure to use optional devices supported by the product. Some non-supported devices may be
physically installed/connected but cause failures of the product as well as a malfunctions of the
product.
