Using the Timers

There are two timers available - daily timer and sleep timer.
Before using the timers, you need to set the clock built into
the unit. (See page 9.)

Using Daily Timer

With the daily timer, you can wake to your favorite music or
radio program.
How the daily timer actually works
The unit automatically turns on, sets the volume level to the
preset level, and starts playing the specified source (radio or
CD) when the on-time comes. During play, the
flashes. Then, when the off-time comes, the unit
automatically turns off (stands by).
The timer setting remains in memory until you change it.
• There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the
setting is canceled before you finish, start from step 1
again.
1 Press POWER to turn on
the unit.
2 Press TIMER.
The on-time blinks on the display.

3 Press UP ¢ or DOWN 4
to set the on-time.
• When the button is kept pressed,
the hour and minute changes
rapidly.
4 Press TIMER.
The off-time blinks on the display.
OFF
5 Press UP ¢ or DOWN 4
to set the off-time.
• When the button is kept pressed,
the hour and minute changes
rapidly.
6 Press TIMER.
The source name ("TUNER" or
"Cd") blinks on the display.
7 Press UP ¢ or DOWN 4
to select the desired source.
• To listen to the radio, select
"TUNER."
• To listen to a CD, select "Cd."

8 Press TIMER.
"VOL - -" (or certain volume level
such as "VOL 6") blinks on the
display.
9 Press UP ¢ or DOWN 4
to set the volume.
• When the volume setting is set to
"VOL - -" (volume level not
specified), the timer playback
volume is at the level used before
setting the timer.
10 Press TIMER.
The daily timer setting is completed
and the
display.
11 Prepare the source.
• To listen to the radio, press TUNER to select the band
and tune in a desired station.
• To listen to a CD, load the disc in the selected tray.
• To listen to two or three CDs continuously, load the
discs, and press LONG PLAY and then STOP 7 so that
the LONG PLAY indicator lights up on the display.
12 Press POWER
