Troubleshooting

Identify the problem

Before calling a technician, check the following items yourself.
Problem
The unit does not
operate.
The Full Tank indicator
flashes even though the
tank is not full.
The unit operates
with loud noise.
Water leaks or spills.
Odors are emitted
from the unit.
When the unit has
been knocked over.
The room humidity
does not go down.
The tank does not
fill up with water.
( The unit is not
dehumidifying
very well.)
It takes a long time to
dry clothes.
Clothes do not dry
completely.
( Clothes are still damp
even after "Auto"
mode is finished.)

Is the power cord unplugged?
Is the Full Tank indicator flashing?
Is the tank properly inserted into the unit? Has the tank been removed?
Was the tank banged against the unit during insertion?
Or, was the tank inserted all the way into the unit?
→ Remove the tank and insert it gently straight into the unit again.
Has the float come off?
Is the filter clogged?
Is the unit tilted or unsteady?
Is the floor surface unstable?
Has the unit been tilted or knocked over?
Was the unit moved with water in the tank?
Has the float come off?
When using the unit for the first time, odors (such as of plastic
or desiccant [Zeolite]) from parts inside the unit may be emitted
from the air outlet, but these odors will disappear after the unit has
been used for a while.
Is there any item emitting an odor in the room?
- New furniture
- Hair spray, other hair products, cosmetics, or chemicals
- Newly papered walls, etc.
→ Sufficiently ventilate the room.
If this is a concern, continue Super (cont.) operation until
the tank is full of water.
The odor will decrease after 2 to 3 continuous operations.
Immediately return the unit to the upright position to prevent as
much water leakage as possible.
→ The unit will automatically stop, and the Full Tank indicator will flash.
Are doors or windows being opened too often?
Is there a kerosene heater or other device giving off water vapor in the
room? (Kerosene and gas heaters produce moisture when operating.)
Is the filter clogged?
Is something blocking the air outlet?
Are the room temperature and humidity low?
→ The unit dehumidifies less as the room temperature and
humidity become lower.
Is the unit set to "Auto" mode?
Is wet, cold air entering the room?
→ Avoid open doors and windows as much as possible while
drying clothes.
Does the item still need to be spin-dried or was it just hand-
wrung?
Is there a heater in use near the unit?
→ If the surrounding temperature is too high, the sensor will be
unable to accurately judge the drying time.
Does the air from the unit flow throughout all of the clothes?
Also, are the clothes hung too closely together or in layers?
→ Dry any clothes that are still damp again.
