Polling
Polling is the process of retrieving faxes from another machine. You can use your
machine to "poll" other machines, or you can have someone poll your machine.
All parties involved in polling need to set up their machines to accommodate polling. When someone
polls your machine to receive a fax, they pay for the call; if you poll someone's fax machine to
receive a fax, you pay for the call. (See Polled Transmit, page 53.)

Polling Receive

Setup for Polling Receive (Standard)
Polling Receive is when you call another fax machine to receive a fax from it.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 7. The screen displays

The screen prompts you to enter the fax number you
want to poll, and then to press Fax Start.

Enter the fax number you are polling, and press Fax Start.
The screen displays DIALING.
Setup for Polling Receive with Secure Code
You need to make sure you are using the same ID number as the other party.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 7.

Enter a four-digit number.
This is the same as the security code of the fax machine you are polling.

Press Menu/Set.
The screen prompts you to enter the fax number you want to poll, and then to press Fax Start.
