MAINTENANCE
3.
Loosen the bolt (5) on the top cover (4) on the engine
body, and slide the cover (4) rearward.
4.
Check the front and rear surfaces of oil cooler fins (6), ra-
diator fins (7), aftercooler fins (8), air conditioner condens-
er fins (9), and fuel cooler fins (10). If there is any mud,
dirt, or leaves stuck to the fins, blow it off with compressed
air.
Steam or water may be used instead of the compressed
air.
However, when performing powerful steam cleaning (high-
pressure machine wash) of the heat exchange equipment
(radiator, oil cooler, aftercooler, fuel cooler, condenser),
maintain sufficient distance from the machine when per-
forming the work. If steam cleaning (high-pressure ma-
chine wash) is performed at close distance, there is a dan-
ger that the internal fins of the heat exchange equipment
may be deformed, and this will cause early clogging and
breakage of the equipment.
5.
Check the rubber hoses. If any hose is cracked or be-
comes brittle, replace it with a new one. Also check and
tighten all the loose hose clamps.
If you try to remove or install the net standing on the track, there is a danger of serious injury or death
due to falling off from the machine. Prepare an access platform for the work.
6.
Remove the undercovers (12) and (13), and sweep out the
mud, dirt, and leaves to the outside of the machine.
7.
Install the upper cover (4) with bolts (5).
8.
Install the undercovers (12) and (13).

METHOD FOR CLEANING AIR CONDITIONER FRESH/RECIRC FILTERS

When using compressed air, there is a danger that dirt may scatter and cause personal injury. Always
wear protective equipment such as protective eyeglasses and dust mask.
NOTICE
The cleaning interval of 500 hours is a rough standard. Clean at shorter intervals in dusty jobsites.
REMARK
If the element becomes clogged, the air flow will be reduced, and there will be a rumbling sound from the air
conditioner unit.
